We are Calvary Chapel missionaries church planting in Jaco, Costa Rica. We have a passion to reach the lost and make disciples of Christ. This is our story…
Before moving to Costa Rica, we lived in S. Florida, Revae as a school teacher and then a stay at home mom and Mike a licensed plumber. We were both serving at our home church for 8 years, serving in youth ministry, young adults ministry and just about anywhere else we could lend a hand. While we have received no formal training, our Pastor and his wife took us under their wings as if we were their children. They discipled us for 8 years and trained us up for the work of the ministry.
In early 2004, we heard God call us to plant a bible teaching church in Jaco, Costa Rica. In June of 2005, after much prayer & with the support of our home church, our family stepped out in faith and moved to Costa Rica with 2 yr old Naomi and Revae 8 months pregnant. 6 weeks after arriving our 2nd daughter, Abigail, was born. One month later we started a weekly prayer meeting, and in September of 2005, Calvary Chapel Jaco (Capilla Calvario Jaco) held its first worship service. Since that first worship service, both CCJ and our family have seen much growth. In March of 2009 we gave birth to our third daughter, Mikaela. Then, in 2011, we welcomed our 4th child, our 1st son, Elijah.
Life on the mission field is always an adventure. Beside our weekly ministry responsibilities, we daily invest in others by building godly relationships with them. With 4 children added to the mix, there are never any dull moments! One thing is for sure, God has led us every step of the way. We are amazed by the ways that we continue to see Him provide for us and work in us and through us. Paul’s saying is certainly true of our lives, “God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise” and “I am what I am by the Grace of God”.
